The program
Stanford Robotics Club, operator of DroneHacks (Stanford Horizons), a student drone hackathon at Stanford University, sends text messages to applicants and participants who consented to receive them. Messages carry time-sensitive event information: application and travel deadlines, schedule changes, room and venue locations, and safety notices. Messages are informational and do not require a reply.
How you agreed
You agreed to receive text messages from Stanford Robotics Club (DroneHacks) as a separate, optional consent when you registered for the event. SMS consent is not a condition of applying, admission, or attending; you can take part fully without receiving texts.
How often
Message frequency varies. Expect roughly 5 to 10 messages in total between admission and the end of the event on November 8, 2026, most of them during event weekend.
How to stop
Reply STOP to any message to opt out. You will receive one message confirming that you have been unsubscribed, and nothing further. You can also turn text updates off in your participant portal, or email hello@stanfordhorizons.com. To start again, reply START or turn text updates back on in the portal.

Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier for the cost of receiving text messages on your plan. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
Privacy
No mobile information will be shared with third parties/affiliates for marketing/promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties. See the Privacy Policy.
